Build: Dis inherited her dam's thin neck and slender form, but whereas on Wealtheow is the lanky wallflower, Dis is the thin and beautiful supermodel. She has a natural grace about her and even with motherhood, she stays slimmer than most broods. From Awry she gained a well-proportioned barrel and rump and the prettiest, straigtest legs imaginable.

Temperment: As a foal, Dis enjoyed annoying people as much as possible. She had the drive to run, but ran catawampus and all over the track. As she aged, however, the silly filly straightened out into a fine young mare. Her struggle with cancer left shadows in those eyes and she no longer plays around the paddocks, choosing instead to quietly soak up the sun and enjoy life for however long she has.

Dis's story began as a crazy-ass filly running around the paddock, terrorizing her poor dam and her fellow foals. Then, when she started racing, she was all over the track.

Sometimes, however, all you need is a little growth, and Dis took an about-face as a three-year-old and started winning. Her most famous race was her dual against two other Awry fillies, Askew View and Anticlimax, in the GI Kentucky Oaks, finishing second by a nose.

In June of her sophomore year, we discovered a fist-sized tumor near her heart. The vets estimated she would live only a maximum of two more years, but we took a chance and did ECM tissue regrowth therapy. It worked.

With our vet's approval, she has joined the mare herd and has become a broodmare.
